For over six decades, Sri Karpagambal Jewellery (SKJ) has been a trusted name in gold, silver, diamond, and gemstone jewellery in Mylapore, Chennai.
Our journey began in 1959 when Mr. K. C. Lakshmanan established our jewellery shop on C.P. Koil Street, in close proximity to the historic Kapaleeshwarar Temple. We were among the early jewellery establishments in the area and proudly the first jewellery business on our street.
Over the years, we have built our reputation through quality craftsmanship, personal service, and generations of trust. Known as SKJ since the 1970s, our business has remained a family-run jewellery house, now carried forward by the third generation.
From traditional jewellery and religious articles to contemporary diamond jewellery and customised creations, we continue to preserve our heritage while embracing modern trends.

The Beginning
Founded by Mr. K. C. Lakshmanan
Our story began in 1959 when Mr. K. C. Lakshmanan established the jewellery shop on C.P. Koil Street, Mylapore, near the Kapaleeshwarar Temple. We were the first jewellery business on our street and have remained at the exact same location since inception.
The SKJ Brand Name
Becoming Known as SKJ
During the 1970s, the business officially became known by the name SKJ — a moniker that has continued to represent our family jewellery house and diamond setting specialty ever since.
The Second Generation
Expansion under Mr. Srinivas
In 1990, the business was taken over by his son, Mr. Srinivas, who continued to develop the business and expand customer relationships while preserving the traditional values established by the first generation.
The Third Generation
K. S. Bharadwaj Aravind & Legacy
Today, the business is carried forward by the third generation, K. S. Bharadwaj Aravind, working alongside his father. Bringing modern diamond designs, digital presence, and personalized services while maintaining 65+ years of trust.
